The National Committee provides grants to facilitate the organisation of reunions and peer-to-peer network meetings for the first generation of people who were affected by the Second World War. The grant programme is meant to sustain the efforts of national volunteer organisations focused on keeping alive the memory of the Second World War to maintain contact with each other by organising events together. The target groups include volunteer organisations of first-generation Dutch people affected by the Second World War.
The National Committee also provides grants for activities about war and freedom worldwide in the area of education and public information. This programme is meant to help implement existing educational materials and to give attention to relatively unknown themes of the Second World War.
